Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue A. Ellis Taylor, American producer and actress. She is a graduate of the BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue has a reputation as an American actor also known as producer and director. She is employed in film and television. Her stage debut was in the year 2000 and went onto appear in mainstream, independent, and TV series. Her most famous role was Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as in BET's epic show The Book of Negroes. In both roles, she received critical acclaim and various awards and nominations, among them the Television Critics Choice Award for the best Actress. In 1995 she made her acting debut on stage in The Tempest as Ariel. Stage credits include Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production directed by Joe Turner. Her film career is highlighted through her performances on Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. On television, her part on ABC's drama about police High Incident is well known.
